2021 Summer Sandlot Program
Central Perkiomen Youth Association is excited to announce that we will be offering a new program this summer! We are calling it our Sandlot Program and it is open to all children up to the age of 12.
The program is designed to get the kids outside and have fun. Each week, children will be separated by age and placed onto different fields; received 15-20 minutes of baseball/softball instruction focusing on a new skill and then moving into pick-up games. We will randomly seperate the children into teams each week ( Black Team and Yellow Team) and they will then play supervised no-pressure scrimmages.
Sandlot Program Details
– This Sandlot program starts June 14th and will run through August 16, occurring each Monday evening.
– Each child will receive:
2 Shirts (One Black and One Yellow) with the new CP Sandlot logo, a CP Hat, and an End of Year Pizza and Ice Cream Party at the CPYA Rotary Pavilion.
Since this is a recreational program, it is OK if particiapants have to miss a few week(s); our staff requests that participants communicate attendance so we can best prepare and estimated particiapent level each week.
Special Thank You to Matt Nice for offering to help run the CPYA Sandlot Program for us. It will take a team of volunteers to make this a fun experience for the kids, but we’re confident that it will be a great opportunity to keep the kids playing ball throughout the summer.
CPYA DEVELOPMENT CLINIC:
While running during the same time period as our 7/8U Development Clinic, this program is focused around fun and the kids getting to play with friends. The Development Clinic is designed on developing all skills and preparing kids for the next level. Eligible kids are certainly able to participate in both programs.
If you have any questions, please let us know. We are excited to roll out this new program and hope that our families are excited to try something new at CP!
