Fasnacht Cooking Demonstration

Saturday, February 21, 10 am to 3 pm
Join hearth cook Becky Manley in the Speaker’s House kitchen as she prepares traditional fasnachts, the rich Pennsylvania German doughnuts enjoyed on the eve of Lent. Watch as Becky demonstrates historic hearth cooking techniques, learn about the cultural roots of this beloved tradition, and enjoy the wonderful sights and smells of fasnachts being made over the fire. Best of all, visitors will have the chance to sample freshly made fasnachts during the demonstration.
